Rat Activity & Treatment in Esher, KT10 – 13 May 2026
Pestforce Pest Control Walton, Surrey attended a property in Esher, KT10, following reports of suspected rat activity around the garden boundary and entertainment area. During the initial visit, our technician carried out a full inspection, installed traps, and advised the customer on proofing recommendations, including sealing entry points, improving waste storage, reducing clutter, and arranging a professional drain inspection to rule out hidden access points. At the second treatment, all eight traps were inspected and confirmed the activity was caused by wood mice rather than rats. Six mice were successfully removed using traps only, with no rodenticide required. External proofing works were completed using steel wool and Grip fill around the entertainment area to block access points and reduce harbourage. During the final visit, further proofing was carried out to the shed area and beneath the entertainment space. No evidence of rat activity was found, confirming this was an isolated field mouse issue. The customer was advised to continue monitoring the area and seal any future entry points if required.
Successful 3 Part Rat treatment in Walton-on-Thames, KT12, 28th April 2026
Pestforce Pest Control Walton-on-Thames carried out a three-part rodent treatment programme following reports of noise and suspected activity within the loft space. During the initial inspection, evidence of rodent activity was identified in the attic, including gnaw marks and grease staining on roof timbers and polystyrene. The customer also reported hearing movement and noted damage to stored materials. A drainage inspection confirmed no rat flap was installed, and potential attractants including bird feeders were identified externally. At the second visit, all traps and monitoring points were inspected with no confirmed captures or fresh activity found. Historic mouse droppings were identified, and further inspection highlighted possible access points through damaged roof tiles and open eaves. Existing control points were re-baited, and rodenticide was applied within the loft space. During the final visit, a full inspection confirmed no further evidence of rodent activity. All traps and remaining rodenticide were safely removed, successfully completing the treatment programme.
Successful 3 Part Rat treatment in Walton-on-Thames, KT12 22nd April 2026
Pestforce Pest Control Walton-on-Thames carried out a successful three-part treatment programme following reports of rat activity within the property grounds and drainage system. During the initial visit, a full inspection of the sewer lines and surrounding external areas confirmed rat activity transiting through the drainage system and harbouring beneath the shed. Evidence including droppings, scratch marks, and grease staining was identified within the drains. Four traps were strategically installed around the shed perimeter in line with identified run routes and harbourage areas. Recommendations were also provided for a professional drain survey and the installation of rat flaps to help prevent further ingress. At the second visit, existing traps were inspected and findings indicated the activity was linked to mice rather than rats. The treatment approach was adjusted accordingly, with additional traps installed across both the customer’s garden and the neighbouring property to improve monitoring and capture rates. An inspection of the neighbouring garden identified an old rat burrow and overgrown areas behind the shed acting as potential harbourage points. During the final visit, all traps were removed from both properties following a significant reduction in activity. The first phase of proofing works was completed around the bar area shed to help prevent further rodent access, with additional proofing scheduled to continue on the second shed area. The treatment programme was completed successfully, with the customer advised on ongoing monitoring and proofing recommendations to reduce the likelihood of future rodent activity.
