Pestforce Pest Control Newry & Banbridge
Pest infestations can take many different formats. Some pest control problems can occur as a result of environmental factors – such as a ‘freak’ weather pattern that may not be ‘normal’ to the UK and give rodents and insects the opportunity and conditions to multiply in a way they may not usually get very often!
I offer pest control service for ALL Pests and this includes:
- Wasp nest removals & bee control
- Squirrels, rabbits, foxes and rodents (rats and mice)
- Bird proofing and bird control including pigeons and seagulls
- Flea treatments & bedbug treatments
- Insects – moths, flies, woodworm, carpet beetle, ants, cockroaches, spiders, midges and more.
One example of this is the wet winters we have had recently in the UK. Whilst constant rain is a misery to use, it also causes rats and mice problems too. They inevitably seek shelter – and nesting sites – in places where they may not frequent normally. As well as building their nests in draught-free, dry, warm place, with a food source nearby, rodents do not like human disturbance. However, the wet weather has forced them to seek shelter in our homes – possibly the cellar – or in buildings close to our homes. Their numbers can multiply quickly which, as well as being a nuisance, they can also damage buildings and contents quickly with their constant hunt for food and nesting material.
Pests can also be introduced into the country and this is best illustrated by the super-invasive Asian plants, the Japanese Knotweed and Giant Hogweed. Both these super-weeds present different issues:
BOTH these plants need careful handling and should only be dealt with by a certificated professional such as myself. Pest infestations can be outside or inside the home. I have recently dealt with many cases of fleas and bedbugs. Many customers, in my experience, are embarrassed to ‘admit’ to fleas or bedbugs, believing wrongly that they invade the home due to poor hygiene and cleanliness – THIS IS NOT THE CASE. Fleas and bedbugs can be introduced to the home by pets, guests or even brought back from holiday, and the warm, dry environment found in our soft furnishings and beds provide the perfect resting place. These insects and bugs need dealing with quickly and with an effective insecticide to break their life cycle, eradicating them completely from your home.
Effective pest control
Dealing with pests is a two pronged attack – eradicating the pest by using a suitable method and secondly, attempting to prevent re-infestation in the future.
