Pest Control Services in Belfast

When things become unbalanced, there is a pest – whether it’s a rodent, bird or insect – that will seek out this opportunity and settle themselves in to their new home, taking advantage of the conditions that are right for them.

Rodents

Rats and mice, for example, make their nests in draught free, water tight areas and do not welcome the company of humans. The recent wet winters have meant that these pesky rodents have decided to make their way into our cellars, industrial units, garages, sheds and other outbuildings where they can be warm and safe. Even better is if there is an inexhaustible food source nearby; in this recycling age, most garden now have a compost with rats and mice love!  However, when they strip material such as wood and soft furnishings etc. for their nesting material, the damage can be costly.

Insects can also be a problem, from woodworm, beetles and wasps etc. in the garden or insects in the home such as bedbugs or fleas.

Many people are embarrassed when their home has an infestation, believing that it is as a result of poor hygiene or cleanliness. This is not the case! Bugs and fleas arrive in our home in a number of ways – possibly on pets or guests. Unfortunately, in some cases, they are also brought back as holiday souvenirs. These bugs and insects need immediate treatment, as their life cycle needs to be broken in order for them to be effectively and completely eradicated from the home. I also control and remove moths, flies, ants, carpet beetle, spiders, midges, cockroaches and more.

Not many people think that weeds and plants are pests but in recent years, the Japanese Knotweed and the Giant Hogweed have become major problems in Bangor, as well as across many other areas.

These invasive plants, brought to the UK from Asia back in the 19th Century, have been causing extensive damage to property, as well as commercial premises, derelict buildings and pathways. They are incredibly tough plants – the Japanese Knotweed has an extensive underground root system that is hard to destroy and the Giant Hogweed can produce 1500 seeds, and scatter them with 4 metres creating its own plant nursery. As well as causing damage to your property, the Giant Hogweed can also present a danger to public and animal health. These plants are skin irritants!

I can help if you are having problems with Pigeons and Seagulls, to mention just two… I specialise in bird proofing and bird control. I also provide woodworm treatments and can remove and control foxes, rabbits and squirrels.
