Common Pest Problems in Wetherby and Tadcaster

Pest control around a family home can be very different from pest control in a feed store, workshop or commercial kitchen. Understanding how the property is used is an important part of finding the right solution.

Rats and mice

Scratching noises, droppings and chewed packaging are often the first clues. I investigate where rodents are active, how they may be getting inside and what is providing food or shelter.

Wasps and ants

Wasps repeatedly using one opening may indicate a nest, while trails of ants indoors can point to a nearby colony. Identifying the source helps determine the appropriate treatment.

Fleas and bed bugs

These pests can make a home uncomfortable and cause understandable worry. I provide straightforward advice, explain any preparation needed and guide you through the treatment process.

Flies and stored product pests

Persistent insect activity may be linked to drains, waste, animal areas, food or feed. Finding the breeding or infestation source is often essential to controlling the problem.

Squirrels and birds

Activity in roof spaces or around buildings can cause noise, damage and fouling. I assess the signs and explain suitable management or proofing options.

Rabbits and foxes

On rural properties, pests can affect crops, gardens, paddocks and the day-to-day use of land. My agricultural experience helps me assess the problem in its wider setting.

Pests can affect clean, well-maintained properties too. There is no reason to feel embarrassed about asking for help.

If you have noticed something unusual at your Wetherby or Tadcaster property, call me on 01937 207 025.

About Henry Robinson

I’m Henry Robinson, the person behind your local Pestforce service in Wetherby and Tadcaster.

Yorkshire is home for me. Although I was born in Wiltshire and grew up in different parts of the UK, I spent around eight years here growing up and have lived in North Yorkshire for the past seven years.

Before pest control, I spent 15 years in farm management. That work taught me to notice the early signs of a problem, understand how buildings and land are used, and find solutions that work in practice. In 2019, I was named Farm Worker of the Year, something I’m still very proud of.

Pest control also runs in the family. My dad owns Pestforce Hull and East Riding, so I have seen first-hand how important it is to earn customers’ trust and look after them properly.

At home, I live with my partner, our two children and our dogs, Agatha the Labrador and Tucker the Jack Russell. When I’m away from work, I enjoy camping, hiking on the moors, clay pigeon shooting, rugby and old war films.

I would describe myself as determined, caring and honest. When I visit your property, my aim is to understand the problem, explain the work clearly and help you feel comfortable in your home or business again.

If you need my help, call 01937 207 025. You’ll be speaking directly to me.

Pest Control Services in Wetherby and Tadcaster

I provide pest control for homes, rental properties, farms and commercial premises across Wetherby, Tadcaster and the surrounding area.

Every job starts with an assessment so I can recommend an approach suited to the pest, the property and the extent of the activity.

Rat Control Wetherby and Tadcaster

Seeing a rat around your home or business can leave you wondering whether there are more nearby and how close they are getting to the building.

I look for evidence such as droppings, burrows, gnawing and signs of access. I also assess possible food sources, shelter and routes into the property.

The aim is to deal with the activity while understanding why the rats are there. My recommendations may include treatment, changes to storage or waste handling, and advice on vulnerable entry points.

My farming background is particularly useful when investigating rats around livestock buildings, feed stores and outbuildings.

If you have seen rats or found signs of activity, call 01937 207 025.

Mouse Control Wetherby and Tadcaster

Mice often make their presence known through the evidence they leave behind. You might find small droppings, discover chewed packaging or hear scratching when the house is quiet.

They can enter through narrow gaps and settle in concealed spaces, so locating the activity is an important part of the inspection.

I assess the signs, look for possible entry points and explain suitable treatment options. I’ll also advise on proofing, food storage and other measures that can support the control programme.

For help with mice in your home or business, give me a call.

Squirrel Control Wetherby and Tadcaster

Heavy movement or scratching above the ceiling, particularly during daylight hours, may indicate grey squirrels in the roof.

Squirrels can damage insulation, timber and stored belongings. Their chewing can also create concerns around cables.

I inspect for evidence, assess possible access routes and explain appropriate control options. Where suitable, I’ll recommend steps to help secure the property against further entry.

If something is moving around your loft, call 01937 207 025 so we can establish what is responsible.

Wasp Nest Treatment Wetherby and Tadcaster

A steady stream of wasps entering and leaving the same opening can indicate a nest in a roof space, wall cavity, shed or another sheltered location.

I assess the activity and position of the nest before recommending treatment. I also consider how the surrounding area is used and explain any precautions you need to follow.

Disturbing a nest yourself can provoke the wasps, so it is sensible to get advice before attempting to deal with it.

For wasp nest treatment in Wetherby or Tadcaster, call me on 01937 207 025.

Ant Control Wetherby and Tadcaster

Ants repeatedly appearing in the kitchen or around a doorway can become frustrating, especially when they return after cleaning.

I investigate their route, the areas where they are active and likely nesting locations.

This helps me recommend suitable treatment and explain practical ways to reduce food sources or access into the property.

If ants keep coming back, contact me to discuss the problem.

Flea Treatment Wetherby and Tadcaster

Fleas can spread into carpets, furniture and bedding, making the whole household uncomfortable.

They are often associated with pets, but infestations can also become apparent after a property has been empty or when new occupants move in.

I explain what preparation is required, how the treatment will work and what to expect afterwards. Where pets are involved, their treatment needs to be coordinated with the treatment of the property.

If you are finding fleas or experiencing unexplained bites, call 01937 207 025 for advice.

Bed Bug Treatment Wetherby and Tadcaster

Bed bugs can arrive with luggage, second-hand furniture or other belongings. They can affect any home and are not a sign of poor cleanliness.

Evidence may include live insects, shed skins or small dark marks around mattresses and bed frames. Bites alone do not confirm a bed bug infestation.

I inspect the affected areas, explain my findings and recommend a treatment plan. Where preparation or follow-up visits are needed, I’ll guide you through each stage.

Contact me for discreet, practical help with suspected bed bugs in Wetherby or Tadcaster.

Fly Control Wetherby and Tadcaster

A persistent fly problem often needs an investigation into where the insects are developing.

Depending on the species, the source may involve food waste, drains, animal areas, organic matter or something concealed within the building.

I assess the activity and recommend appropriate control measures, alongside any changes to cleaning, waste handling or site management that could help.

I provide fly control for homes, farms and commercial properties.

Cockroach Control Wetherby and Tadcaster

Cockroaches can hide around appliances, cracks and other warm, sheltered spaces. An inspection helps establish where they are active and how extensive the problem may be.

I look at harbourage areas and the availability of food and moisture before explaining the treatment plan.

I’ll also advise on supporting hygiene and maintenance measures, particularly around kitchens and food-related premises.

If you have seen a suspected cockroach, call 01937 207 025 so we can identify it and decide what to do next.

Moth Control Wetherby and Tadcaster

Moths can affect clothing, carpets and soft furnishings, or develop in stored food, depending on the species involved.

Finding the source is essential. Adult moths flying indoors may be the most visible sign, but the infestation could be concentrated in a cupboard, stored item or less accessible area.

I assess the insects and any damage, recommend suitable treatment and explain relevant cleaning, storage and monitoring measures.

If moths are repeatedly appearing or damaging your belongings, give me a call.

Beetle and Stored Product Pest Control

Insects in flour, cereals, animal feed or other stored products can affect households, farms and commercial premises.

I inspect the affected products and surrounding storage areas to help identify the pest and establish the extent of the problem.

My agricultural background gives me an understanding of the practical challenges of feed storage, stock management and pest monitoring.

I’ll explain appropriate control measures and ways to reduce further infestation.

For stored product pest problems in Wetherby or Tadcaster, call 01937 207 025.

Pigeon Control Wetherby and Tadcaster

Pigeons settling on roofs, ledges and other parts of a building can create persistent mess. Droppings may affect entrances and walkways, while nesting material can contribute to blocked gutters.

I assess where the birds are roosting or nesting and advise on appropriate management or proofing options.

Recommendations depend on the property, the activity and applicable wildlife legislation.

If pigeons are causing problems around your building, contact me to discuss an assessment.

Gull Control Wetherby and Tadcaster

Gulls around a property can cause noise, fouling and difficulties using nearby outdoor spaces, particularly where nesting is involved.

I assess the location and activity before explaining what options may be available.

Any recommendations take account of the species, circumstances and relevant wildlife protections.

Call 01937 207 025 for advice about gull problems around your home or business.

Rabbit Control Wetherby and Tadcaster

Rabbits can cause substantial damage to crops, gardens, young trees and landscaped areas. Burrowing can also create problems in paddocks, sports grounds and other land.

I assess the level of activity, the damage and how the land is used before discussing suitable control options.

My 15 years in farm management help me understand the impact these problems can have on rural properties.

If rabbit damage is becoming difficult to manage, give me a call.

Fox Control and Advice

Foxes are part of the local environment, but repeated fouling, disturbed bins or unwanted activity around buildings and livestock can create concerns.

I look at what may be attracting them and how they are accessing the area.

Depending on the situation, recommendations may involve improving waste storage, removing food sources or reducing access. I’ll explain practical, lawful options suited to your property.

For advice about fox activity in Wetherby or Tadcaster, call 01937 207 025.

Other Pest Problems

Not every problem is immediately recognisable. You may have found unusual droppings, heard a noise in the walls or discovered insects you cannot identify.

You don’t need to know the answer before contacting me. Describe what you have noticed, and I’ll help you decide whether an inspection is needed.
