Camera survey for rats in loft in Dundee, DD4 - 09/11/22 

Pestforce Pest Control Dundee attended a call as occupant's report hearing scratching and scurrying noise in the loft space above the bedroom in the early hours of the mornings. Internal inspection showed a possible entry point in corner of the loft as daylight is coming through into the loft. Camera deployed to monitor the corner for confirmation. Tracking dust deployed around the snap traps to show the travel route that the rodent is taking.
 

Small birds in roof of Dundee home, DD2 - 01/02/2022

Received a call from a customer in Dundee who had seen a number of small birds entering under the eaves of the roof tiles.. We carried out a full survey and discovered the customer had gaps under the tiles, no sign of any eave comb. We put in place some bird deterrant proofing to prevent the birds returning nd making new nests come sapring time.

Beetles in home in Dundee, DD2 - 01/11/2021

A new landlord was renovating his property with a view to rent out again, as he pulled back the carpets to dispose of them, he discovered a lot of beetles. Quick identification of the beetle came back as one of the dermestus beetle family.  Further identification has been sent to a lab to confirm. A crack and crevice treatment has been carried out on the property. This should flush out the beetles and eradicate the problem so that landlord can complete renovations and rent out flat again.
 

Wasps in shed in Dundee home, DD2 - 05/08/2021

Received a call from a customer in Dundee who had decided that today was the day that she would tackle the grass and have it cut. As she opened the shed door, she was chased out by some angry wasps who had decided to make the shed their new home. Once I had donned the suit and with a good chemical in hand, I tackled the nest head on and within 2 mins the nest was no longer active. I retrieved the lawn mower for the lady and gave her no excuse to not cut the grass anymore.

Home report in Dundee home, DD2 - 04/08/2021

Received a call from a customer in Dundee who are selling the family home after their father had passed away. A home report was carried out and it was noted that there was a wasp hive in the loft. We were asked if we could remove the byke to conform with the home report problem. It was such a small loft space to move around but we eventually managed to remove not 1 but 5 old nests that had been there for years. Family is happy that that is one more thing ticked off their list as they now try to move forward.

Mouse activity in forfar house, DD8 - 12/02/2021

Sightings of mice droppings and seeing mice in the property led to a call out being requested to the property by the owner. After removing the kitchen plinths, the entry hole was identified and traced back to the garage below. The mice had been running up the electrical cable into the roof space and then into the kitchen units. Traps set under plinths and the garage doors were proofed to prevent any other mice entering.

Rats in shed in Dundee, DD2 - 01/01/2021

Customer was walking past his shed when he noticed an area dug out at the side and noticed a hole on opposite side of shed, suspecting rats, he called Pestforce Dundee. I confirmed the possibility of rats and decided to lay some snap traps in the vicinity, within 48 hours, two large adults had been caught and a juvenile rat caught this morning.  Traps will be left for a longer period to make sure all clear.

Wooly Bears in Dundee, DD4 - 19/11/2020

Attended a flat with an infestation of carpet beetle. Customer had recently moved into the flat and noticed the early stages of the carpet beetle larvae more commonly known as woolly bear due to them being covered in brown hairs and they tend to roll up when disturbed. The infestation appeared to be in only one corner, so i pulled back the carpet, treated the gaps in between the floorboards and the underside of the carpet also as well as the carpet itself. Hopefully these "bears" will go back into hibernation

Cluster flies in Dundee, DD2 - 27/10/2020

Received a call from a customer, who had noticed a large increase of flies in an attic room. I inspected the room and confirmed a cluster fly infestation. Using a cold fogging machine and a special chemical i was able to treat the room quickly. Upon leaving the house i  noticed  a large quantity of wasps outside the house, appears they  may have had a wasp nest in the tiles also and so I was able to treat two pest problems at the same time.

Fleas in flat in Dundee, DD5 - 26/10/2020

Received a call from a letting agent, whose tenant had a flea problem, i attended the property and saw evidence of fleas, plus the tenant had visible bites on her legs. I advised a course of action to take and sprayed the house. After completing the treatment, i gave more advice on next steps to take after treatment.

Mouse in flat in Dundee, DD2 - 24/10/2020

Received a call from a letting agent, whose tenant had a mouse problem, i attended the property for a follow up visit and noticed that the entry points had been fixed or block and checked all the bait stations. No bait had been taken, however the traps under the kitchen units in the flat had been activated. I removed the mouse from the traps and reset them again for another week just tto makesure that the flat is now mouse free.

Mouse problems in Dundee home, DD2 - 18/10/2020

Received a call from a letting agents that they had a tenant with a mouse problem in Dundee. The mouse had visited the tenant when she was in the bathroom and the ran away into her bedroom. Naturally she was a bit shocked and apprehensive about having a mouse in the flat. I attended the flat on Sunday morning to accommodate the tenants working schedule. After an initial inspection of the rooms and finding various possible entry points, i proofed these areas to prevent further incursions and set down some bait boxes.

Small birds nesting in Dundee, DD3 -10/10/2020

Received a call from a local landlord in Dundee, his tenants had seen a number of small birds flying into the extractor fan outlet pipes. We attended the property and carried out a quick external and internal survey and discovered the small birds were starting to try and build a small nest in the extractor fan of the bathroom. We found the missing plastic flap for the extractor fan guard and quickly refitted this and closed the fan vent. This has successfully stopped the small birds from nesting. This has left the landlord happy as it was a quick and inexpensive fix and his tenant is happy as no birds making noises at all times of the day.

Rat Infestation in Dundee home, DD3 - 05/10/2020

Received a call from a customer in Dundee who had seen a rat run past her whilst she was in the kitchen. i carried out a full pest control survey around the outside of the building and discovered a few    areas of entry that rodents could use. We put in place some snap traps and rodenticide in tamper proof boxes and happy to say that the rat is no longer to be seen. This included doing some remedial proofing work to avoid them entering the house again. Always good to see a happy customer.

Wasps Infestation in Dundee home, DD3 - 06/10/2020

Received a call from a customer in Dundee who had seen a number of wasps in the toilet. We carried out a full pest control survey and discovered the customer had a big nest of wasps in their attic. We put in place a plan to remove the nest using an aerosol treatment and after a few hours we had resolved the problem. This included removing the nest from the area it was in. Always good to see a happy customer who can now have a shower without any fears of  being stung

Rodent droppings, DD2 - 20/09/2020

Had a call from a local charity in invergowrie who had noticed droppings at the rear door inside, after discussing possible solutions, the charity agreed that it would be better for me to provide ongoing protection for the hall and to provide cover against mice and rats. Further proofing work required now as bird spike in bell tower needs replaced or renewed.

Wasp Nest in Drain Pipe, DD5 - 05/09/2020

A customer called to say they were trapped in their house as they had a wasp nest in the drain pipe in the porch just above their front door in broughty ferry. I attended within 15 mins as i was in the area completing another wasp nest and was able to treat the nest quickly, allowing the customer to leave the house and go shopping. I was called a few days later by thier next door neighbour who realised he also had a wasps nest in his attic, i was able to cut and remove the nest and show his family the inside working of a wasp nest.

Merchant Grain Beetle Infestation, DD4 - 03/09/2020

Customer called to say she had a beetle problem in her cupboards and pantry in Dundee, sent pictures to me but not easy to identify, so i arranged a time that was convenient for her for me to attend and inspect the property. Identified the beetle as a merchant grain beetle and treated the area as necessary, also left a few monitor stations to track the infestation.

Pub protection in Dundee, DD4 - 01/09/2020

Pub landlord had reported coming into her cellar one morning and all the soft drinks had been punctured and the place was a mess. Noticed a large hole where the pump pipes were entering bar from cellar and proofed with stainless steel mesh. Also set rat traps and boxes and activity appears to have died down, the cost of this damage was over £400 to the pub, not a nice cost to suffer at this present time after lockdown. Customer was happy with the cover we provided that they have decided on a 6 weekly contract to maintian the protection for the pub.

Biggest wasp nest this season in Dundee home, DD5 - 22/08/2020

Received a call from a customer in Broughty Ferry who had seen a number of wasps in the area of her bathroom window. We carried out a full treatment and the customer asked if we could have  alook in the loft to see if the nest was there and if we can remove it. We ventured up to head height level and discovered 3 nests initially on the left side of the loft, once we cleared away some items around the loft entrance we could get into the loft fully only to discover a further 3 nests on other side of the loft, one of the the nests measured over 1ft long and ot was bigger than  a size 5 football, happy to say the nest was redundant and we could safely remove all 6 nests from the loft. Total weight was about 3kg in total

Wasp nest in Dundee - July 2020

One of many call outs to wasps nest in the area, this nest was particularly troublesome as it was right above the front door. Customer had a small child in house also.  Nest treated and eradicated and customer can leave via the front door without a fear of her or her young child being stung. 

Bee swarm relocation - June 2020

Pestforce Pest Control Dundee assisted a local vet with the removal and relocation of a bee swarm. The vet was also an avid bee keeper and was excited to add to his hives. Please feel free to check out this short video I filmed of the swarm removal on my Facebook page.
