Grass snake in Barnet, EN3 - June 2023

A snake was safely returned to it's natural habitat by Pestforce pest control after it found it's way into a house in Barnet. The grass snake was discovered in the lounge of the property by the startled homeowner. The non-poisonous creatures are native to the UK. Pestforce removed the snake and released it back into the wild away from the house.

Rats in Barnet - September 2022.  EN5

What was thought to be just a fly infestation in a Barnet house turned out to a bigger problem with rats leaving the drains. Pestforce pest control found evidence of rat activity and a dead rodent - the cause of the flies - in an understairs cupboard. Potential entry points were found inside the drain inspection chamber. These were proofed to prevent further access and a non-return valve to limit rat activity in the drains.

Rats found leaving the drainage system and getting onto a recently-installed patio at a house in Barnet were thwarted following a call to Pestforce pest control. Rodents used an underground drainage pipe to gain access to a rainwater grille at the edge of the tiled. From there, they had the opportunity to gnaw their way out. Pestforce fitted a non-return (one-valve) in the pipe to hinder rodents' access while still allowing water to drain away.

Wasps in Barnet - August 2022. EN5

An emergency treatment was carried out by Pestforce pest control after wasps caused work to stop at a Barnet house refurbishment. Workers at the property downed tools after discovering wasps under roof tiles. The nest was amongst the insulation which, along the roof, was to be removed. Pestforce climbed scaffolding to the roof and treated the nest with a foam insecticide.

Rat in Barnet - January 2021, EN5

A rat trapped in a cupboard in a Barnet house was caught and removed by Pestforce pest control. The rodent had most likely entered the property through an open kitchen door. It then made its way into the understairs cupboard before hiding in a small hole in the wall. Using an air pistol, a Pestforce technician shot the rat and disposed of the body. The householders were also given advice about proofing to prevent further rodent ingress.

Wasps in Barnet - August 2020, EN5

A wasps nest in a Barnet supported housing building was treated by Pestforce pest control – allowing the resident to move back in. The top floor flat had been empty for a few months. Wasps entered the loft area via gaps in the roofing tiles. Insecticide was injected into the nest from the outside while a spray dealt with live wasps in the loft area.

Fleas in Barnet - 16/03/2020

A former tenant with cats was responsible for a flea infestation at a Barnet rental property. Pestforce pest control was called in to deal with the problem. Following a thorough survey, an Insecticide treatment was decided upon. After spraying was carried out over two visits, the house was ready to be let to new occupiers.

Rats in former Barnet pub - 15th November 2019

Pestforce pest control has called time on a rat infestation at a former Barnet pub. The building is now a mix of commercial and residential units, and rodents had found a way into the cellar area through a broken air brick. They made their way up into the properties via holes for pipework in the kitchens. The Pestforce technician sealed the external access point and then blocked up internal holes through which rodents had entered living areas. Rodenticide was sealed inside the cellar area to deal with any rats left in there.

Rats in Barnet bathroom - 25th September 2019

Residents in a shared house in Barnet were none too happy when a rat decided to move in - and called in Pestforce to have it quickly removed. The rodent had been cornered inside a downstairs bathroom where the technician was able to trap it using a glue board. With the rodent - which is believed to have simply walked in though an open door - humanely dispatched, the householders were given advice about avoiding further unwelcome visitors.

Ants in Barnet - 17th September 2019

Ants made a bathroom a no-go area for a Barnet family after making their way through a shower unit. The insects came from inside the wall behind the shower controls. Pestforce Pest Control Barnet treated the location with insecticide, and then sealed the control units with silicone. A further spray treatment was undertaken around the house to prevent further infestations.

Bees in the Loft.

We were called to a home in Barnet where a customer believes there is a bee’s nest in their home.  We attended later that day and from outside it was obvious there was a lot of activity of bees. So, I got suited up and went to see inside the loft it was clear there was a next in the loft.  Due to the bees only staying in the loft and causing no major concern for the couple in their home we spoke about the choices and they gladly agreed to let the Bees carry on until the end of their season then we would remove the nest.
