Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh received a call from a local resident who was left feeling frustrated and concerned after spotting rodent activity in their home in Edinburgh. Our team arrived at an agreed time and set to work immediately by conducting a survey. In the kitchen we uncovered evidence of rodent activity with further droppings identified in the bathroom under the shower tray, there were also some older droppings discovered which could signify a historic infestation, or a long-term ongoing infestation. We discussed our findings with our client and initiated a rodent treatment program which we will continue to monitor throughout the eradication process. Rats find haven around bin store at commercial property in Edinburgh, EH7, 29th August 2022

Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh were called to assist with an ongoing rodent problem at a commercial property in Edinburgh. Our team attended the site to conduct a full survey of the problem area and identified several access points. A strategy to approach this infestation was discussed, and a rodent treatment program to eradicate the rats was initiated immediately. Our highly successful rodent treatment program will consist of weekly monitoring in order to ensure good progress is being made. During the survey our team noticed large holes in the walls where cables enter the ground, which will require proofing, additionally, a broken drain cover was identified, and a vent cover was also missing, these will also require repairs to be carried out, this will assist with the rodent treatment program by blocking easy access.  

Wasps disturb peace in a loft conversion in Edinburgh, EH13, 17th August 2022

Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh were called to attend a church in Edinburgh to assist with an ongoing issue of wasps entering a loft which had been converted into an additional living space in the church. Our team arrived and conducted an inspection of the area, they noted several wasps present. The occupants were petrified of wasps, therefore we needed to locate the nest to treat this issue. We concluded the wasp nest was in the sash window, and not visible from outside of the church. We were able to successfully treat this wasp nest from the window. Within 72 hours, this loft conversion will be wasp free. 

Another successful wasp nest treated in Edinburgh, EH4 - 10th August 2022

Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh have recently completed another successful wasp nest treatment in Edinburgh. It’s the peak of the summer and this is our most common call out during this period, we are experts in the treatment of wasp’s nests, and have a vast amount of experience in dealing with and treating wasps’ nests safely and effectively. Wasps’ nests and of course the monstrous number of wasps that are usually surrounding the nest can pose a threat to those nearby, even if you have been stung before, this does not mean that you are not at risk of anaphylaxis from subsequent stings. Today we were able to quickly locate a nest in the roof of a property and using professional insecticides we achieved complete eradication of this nest and the surrounding wasps. Health and safety advice was then issued to our client following the treatment and we also ensured our number was given again, for them to call us with any further questions they may have.

Rodents accidently invited into a garden of commercial property in Edinburgh, EH4, 1st August 2022

Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh received a call from the owner of a commercial property in Edinburgh, a great deal of rodents had been spotted in the garden and he needed some professional advice and a rodent treatment to be carried out. We arranged an appropriate time for us to visit to conduct a survey of the area. Our team arrived onsite and began the survey, during which several rats were sighted in the garden. On further investigation we noticed that the garden was hosting no less than twelve bird feeders. Our team have extensive knowledge and experience with rodent control, and we could confidently advise the owner of the property that this would be the reason the rats are onsite. We explained our findings with our client and recommended a rodent treatment program. This would consist of up to four visits, each visit seven days apart. This would enable us to bait and monitor the progress each week. We also advised our client to remove the bird feeders as they are attracting the rats into the garden. The rodent treatment program is now in place, and the bird feeders removed. We look forward to helping our client get this commercial premises rodent free over the next few visits.

Rodents cause chaos in garden shed in Edinburgh, EH12, 15th July 2022

Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh received a call from a very frustrated customer with rodents in his garden shed at his home in Edinburgh. The rodents had gnawed through a plastic bottle of linseed oil on the floor of the shed and have left liquid on the floor. Our team arrived and conducted an inspection, alongside the oil on the floor, we also identified several mouse and rat droppings. We removed the rat droppings, cleaned up the linseed oil and used a spray to decontaminate the shed. Our team also recommended our successful rodent treatment program to treat the rodents that keep appearing the shed, we have quoted for this and look forward to hearing from our client soon.

Wasps nest on the outside of a property in Edinburgh, EH16, 27th June 2022

Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh were called out by a worried mum to remove a wasp nest from the exterior of her property in Edinburgh. The mum was fearful of wasps and her children were upset too. Wasp stings do hurt and can occasionally be life threatening so it is incredibly important to use professional pest control when removing wasps’ nests or treating wasps. We arrived swiftly and were able to see the wasp nest on the side of her property and could see how anxious this mum was. We were able to safely remove the wasp’s nest from her property. This mum was extremely delighted to be able to let the kids out to play.

Rodent control routine inspection helps detect new infestation of rats in Edinburgh, 20th June 2022

Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh attended an estate in Edinburgh where an annual rodent control program is in place. This was a routine check which enables us to monitor the progress of the treatment and any further evidence of rodent activity. On arrival we checked all feed stations and pens which all showed no evidence of active rats. We continued our progress checks and discovered evidence of recent activity around some of the outbuildings. In addition to the current measures in place, we were able to treat the new activity quickly before it gets out of control.

Wasps terrorise frightened family at their home in Edinburgh, EH10, June 2022

Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh received a call from a petrified mother in Edinburgh, she was anxious about the high number of wasps that she has seen around her home and garden. We could hear that the mother was clearly upset and worried, and we acted immediately, arriving within the hour. On arrival we were able to easily locate the nest and treat the area effectively. Once treatment was complete, the mother explained she had previously been stung by a wasp and this had caused her to have a reaction. The children were finally able to leave the house and resume play in the garden.

Rats find haven in bin store in Edinburgh, EH3, 31st May 2022

Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh received a call and swiftly attended a site in Edinburgh where rodents were causing a nuisance. Our team conducted a full inspection of the area, during which, they identified the point of entry the rats were using. The rats were coming up through an old drain with no cover, in the bin store. Our team set to work immediately by cleaning the area, then using rodent proofing and replacing drain covers. This will prevent the rats from entering the bin store in the future.

Pigeons leave mess behind in Edinburgh, EH26, 30th May 2022

Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh were called to remove an old pigeon nest in Edinburgh. Our team attended the site and conducted an assessment of the mess the pigeons had left behind, we first removed and disposed of the old nest and the scattered nesting materials, next we thoroughly cleaned the areas of contamination including around the solar panels which provide a haven for pigeons. A sanitizer was then used to further treat the area. Pigeon guano (droppings) is corrosive and can be hazardous to health. This site is now clean and pigeon free.

Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh received a call from a lettings agent in Edinburgh. The agents had been made aware of a wasp’s nest located in one of the properties they are responsible for. We swiftly attended the property. We completed a full inspection of the property and discovered a small wasp nest in the loft space. Wasp nests have a paper like appearance and often have an sophisticated swirly pattern visible on the outside. We removed the wasp nest, and this job was complete.

Mice gain entry to home via gas meter in Edinburgh, EH25, 26th April 2022

Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh were called to a home in Edinburgh where the occupants had suspicions of mice entering the property. Our rodent team arrived and conducted a full survey. The survey concluded that there were indeed mice present. Our team discovered mouse droppings in the cupboards and identified the gas meter as the point of entry for the mice. We discussed our proven methods with the occupant and gave our recommendations. We set to work straight away, firstly cleaning out the cupboards to ensure there were no droppings left behind. Our next steps, as we recommended, was to carry out a 3-visit rodent eradication program, with each visit one week apart. We have initiated the eradication program and have full confidence that this home will be mouse free in the very near future.

Rat control for bin store in Edinburgh, 14th March 2022

Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh were called out by a managing agent to help them with a serious long-term rat problem across several bin stores at a block of flats. During our initial survey we found extensive rodent-made damage across the 4 bin store areas. Following a converation with the client we have agreed to set up a rodent control contract. Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh received a phone call in the afternoon the other day from a local gentleman in Edinburgh who had heard rats scratching in the walls in their house. Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh received a contact form in the afternoon the other day from a local gentleman in Edinburgh who had found gnaw marks left by mice in their detached home. We gave the customer some reassurance and scheduled them in for a rodent survey visit of their property at their earliest convenience. Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh attended a cats and dogs home in Edinburgh after reports of mice activity and droppings on site. Our pest survey uncovered droppings in kennel units and food store units. We have since set up an erradication programme taking into account the site and the other animals present. Mice in stockroom of a high street store in Edinburgh, EH2, 5th January 2022

Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh were called to a high street store in Edinburgh after a store manager had seen a rodent dash around in the store stockroom. It is not uncommon for rodents to look for habourage in these areas of a store. We attended as soon as we could and carried out a discreet service after open hours to not concern members of the public. We saw slight evidence of recent mouse activity in the stockroom only with a few mouse droppings found. Since this initial visit we have carried out a bespoke rodent treatment plan and provide recommendations to store to ensure the stockroom is cleaned reguarly and certain items are properly stored. Unwanted mouse visitors before Christmas in Edinburgh, EH9, 22nd December 2021

Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh took a call just before Christmas about a family in Edinburgh suffering from a mouse infestation. They wanted the mice gone before Christmas as they had family staying and didn't want the mice giving them a fright. We attended for a professional rodent survey visit as soon as we could to identify the source of the rodent problem and rectify it. Kitchen mouse control in Edinburgh, EH3, 15th November 2021

Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh had an emergency call for a mouse running around a kitchen of a property in Edinburgh. We were able to attend the same afternoon as the call and set about how we would catch the mouse. We identified a hole at the back of a kitchen pipe which was the possible entry point and placed poison bait directly into cavity wall. We have another visit booked in for next week where we are confident the problem will be ressolved. Once the mouse/mice have been successfully erradciated we will seal any holes with wire wool to ensure the property is fully rodent proofed. 

Squirrel control for loft in Edinburgh, EH26, 8th November 2021

Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh recieved a contact form asking for help with a squirrel causing havoc in a family home in Edinburgh. We were able to book in a survey visit for that same week and on attendance found all the obvious signs of squirrel activity in the loft space. To prevent any further damage we strategically placed traps to catch the squirrel. After 2 visits, the squirrel was caught and the small entry point in the loft was properly sealed.

Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh recieved an email regarding a lady having an issue with mice in her flat. She had seen them in her kitchen and could hear them scurrying around at night. Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh recieved a emergency callout by a student property management client of ours who had reports from tenants of the smell of a dead rodent and potential maggots in the kitchen. Sracthing in loft in Edinburgh, EH14, 19th October 2021

Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh took a call from a very concerned lady in relation to scratching she could hear coming from her loft. We attended first thing the next day to carry out a pest inspection visit. We entered the loft and found obvious signs of squirrel activity. To date we have started a trapping programme to catch the squirrel. From there we will look to provide some proofing measures to prevent further ingress into the property. One tip to avoid rodent infestation in general is avoid putting food out for the birds which can also attract unwanted wildlife.

Squirrel control in Edinburgh, EH12, 7th October 2021

Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh were called out by a family who had started hearing scratching in their loft space. We were able to attend the following day and carry out detailed pest survey of the property. From inspecting the loft space we found clear evidence of squirrels so went about setting traps in the loft. After 3 follow ups we ended up catching 2 squirrels and from there we agreed with the client to proof the roof space to ensure no pesky squirrels get back in. 

Edinburgh Bird Spiking, EH10, 30th September 2021

Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh were called out to survey a property which has had a long standing seagull problem. The gulls have been landing and perching on the roof top edge and creating large amounts of bird guano. We have now sent across our survey findings and quote to the client to authorise which includes a large guano clean up and disinfectant clean alongside the supply and installation of 70 metres worth of Gull spikes around the edges of the building roof. Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh have recently completed a mouse erradication treatment at a flat in Edinburgh. We were called out by a concern tenant who had started seeing mice running around his kitchen at night. We were able to attend the next day from our call and assess the scale of mouse problem. Double wasp nest treatment for flat in Edinburgh, EH25, 9th September 2021

Bird proofing survey of property in Edinburgh, 12th August 2021

Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh recently completed a bird survey after pigeons had begun nesting along the front of a commerical premises. We were called on to survey the issue after significant levels of bird gunao had built up. Due to the canopy at he front of the building a cherry picker will need to be used for access. We recommended to the client that we could supply and fit Bird spikes along underside of overhang roof to prevent nest building. We await their approval however we are confident things will move foward.

We attended the next day and located and removed a dead mouse from behind the fridge. We also identified entry points under kitchen units at wall to floor junctions and pipe work so we have agreed with the client to begin a baiting programme to eradicate any remaining mice and monitor before proofing the holes to prevent further mice ingress.

Rat control for farm in Edinburgh, 15th May 2021

Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh were called out to a farm where a long standing pest control contract had been in place for approx 10 years. Before our rodent control contract and routine visits this farm had a serious rodent problem which the farmer on his own could not get on top of. We came to help and for several years no serious infestations were ever seen on his land. However last week, the farmer reported an explosive increase of rats on the farm. We tackled this problem as soon as possible and have began an intensive rodent trapping and baiting programme to combat this new infestation.

Our Edinburgh bird control team were busy recently with a large bird proofing job. Birds under solar panels is quite a common thing, and we were called by a customer who had pigeons nesting beneath his. Whilst putting preventative measures in please, we also cleaned and repaired gutters and unblocked the downpipe, much to the customers delight!

Our Edinburgh pest controllers were recently called out to a customer after they had found a burrow in their garden. Unsure of what it could be, they contacted our Edinburgh pest control experts to help identify what the problem is. On inspection, we discovered a small infestation of rats, who had bedded underneath the shed. They customer had pets and didn't want our Edinburgh pest control experts to use rodenticides unless absolutely necessary. Instead, we used specialised bait boxes which require the rats to climb into the box before being exposed to rodenticides. This gives the best chance of being rodent free without any risk to the pets.

We started the new year off treating a house with a carpet beetle infestation. It was a large town house whose owner spends a lot of time in Europe at his other properties. He said he had heard noises coming from a cavity wall and asked an alternate pest control company to take a look. They assured him there was no rats or rodents in his cavity wall. Bee Nest Relocation - Edinburgh, EH4, 12th August 2020

We always take particular care when dealing with bees nests and today we encountered a nest that was particularly close to a family home. It was in a tree next to an infants window and the family were very concerned about the bees which had already entered the bedroom on several occasions. Today we completed our treatment for an ant infestation in Edinburgh. Today we attended a property where there seemed to be an overwhelming presence of bees in the corner of the garden. Edinburgh Mice Control for Kitchen - Restalrig, Edinburgh, EH7, 22nd June 2020

This afternoon our mice control team in Edinburgh were called to a customer in Restalrig. They had found evidence of mice in the kitchen but were not sure if they had a rodent problem or if it was something else. Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh conducted our survey and found live mice behind some of the kitchen skirting boards. Edinburgh Rats Stealing From Elderly Lady - Edinburgh, EH6, 7th May 2020

Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh have seen a large spike in rats and squirrel control calls across the region. Today we attended a lovely 95 year old lady who had a rat in her house. She said the rat had taken her slipper from the side of her bed and she found it by the dishwasher! After a thorough rat control inspection, we found that the rats had been there for quite some time, in all her cupboards and all over the worktops! They had eaten through plastic containers to get to the food inside. We implemented our Edinburgh rat control treatment plan and eradicated the rat problem for this customer. Edinburgh Full House Flea Fumigation - Edinburgh, EH2, 15th April 2020

Today we treated a house in Edinburgh (EH2) for fleas. This customer had previously attempted some DIY home remedies they had found online, and also called in another local Edinburgh pest controller, but neither had managed to get rid of the fleas. We attended and used our ULV500 (ultra-low volume) fogging equipment to ensure they every centimetre of the property was reached with our flea fighting chemicals. We are pleased to report that there have been zero reports of the fleas in the property since. Grey Squirrels Nesting in Loft - Edinburgh, EH4, 24th February 2020

One family we visited today thought they were imagining noises throughout the house. They never suspected they had squirrels nesting in the loft. But when attempting to access the loft, they had the fright of their lives when they came face to face with what they described as an army of squirrels. Being mindful of laws concerning red squirrels, we went to investigate and were pleased to see it was grey squirrels we were challenged with and quickly began working on our treatment plan which will have the loft, and property, free of squirrels, who were accessing the property by a tree which had grown very close to the roof.

Today we cleared a warehouse of a severe bird problem. The management were hoping the birds would move on, having had a bird problem in the past which didn't last for long. Vacant Wasp Nests in Loft - Edinburgh, EH7, 10th February 2020

Not far from Edinburgh Old Town, Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh attended a property where there was 4 empty wasp nests in the loft. The homeowner had the fright of his life when he went in the loft and discovered all these nests. How Many Foxes Can One Trap Catch? - Edinburgh EH6, 16th January 2020

Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh received a call from a customer who said he had 3 foxes entering his garden as he has hens. We despatched our Edinburgh fox control team who set a cage trap and caught fox number 1, then fox number 2 and then the 3rd. The customer then asked if we could reset the trap once more just to make sure all the foxes are gone. To everyone's surprise, we are now up to 13 Foxes in the same garden/trap. Two Rat Nests in Listed Building Loft - Edinburgh EH3, 10th January 2020

Today Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh were called to a Grade II listed building who feared they had a rodent problem. We despatched our Edinburgh Rat Control team to perform an inspection, which had to be done with great care given that this was a listed building. The property is near an open water source, and we were told had a rat problem 18 months before our customer, the new owner, had moved in. To our customers shock, we discovered two large sprawling rat nests in their loft. We have created a bespoke treatment plan due to the buildings listed status, and are confident we can get the property rat free in no time - and address the entry points to proof the property from further rat infestations. Today we inspected a property that was previously maintained by a property management company, who apparently had their own in-house pest control team, which the customer had used to treat a mice problem. To their surprise, on New Years day, they discovered further rodents which they assumed to be the same mice problem, and called Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh. We've had lots of experience in providing bird proofing solutions across Edinburgh. Today we completed a job near Morningside in Edinburgh where a house which had solar panels on the roof had a severe issue with birds. Night Time Scurrying Noises from Squirrels - Edinburgh EH2, 8th December 2019

Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh are well aware that this time of the year is rodent season, and expect more calls than normal about rats, mice and squirrels. With all the renovation works going on, they didn't realise that field mice had managed to gain entry to the property and started nesting. Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh were up early in the morning to visit a family in Leith who keep getting bitten during the night, causing a rash on their bodies. Bird Control in Edinburgh under Solar Panels - EH3, 3rd October 2019

Pestforce Pest Control Edinburgh were called to a home in the New Town area of Edinburgh whom in the past year had invested in solar panels for their home. They didn't expect the local birds and pigeons to find it so interesting, who soon decided to make it their home and began nesting under the panels. This obviously caused problems for the family, including noise, mess and general disturbances.
