Pestforce Pest Control Wandsworth recieved a contact form yesterday in the early hours from a local lady in SW18 who had heard mice scratching in the walls in their appartment. We provided some simple advice and booked the customer in for a rodent survey visit of their property for that morning. We discovered obvious evidence of mouse activity with new droppings found in the attic area. To eliminate the infestation we devised a specific 3 visit riddance programme utilising rodent non-toxic baits and mouse traps. We have since completed our treatment and the infestation has been effectively eradicated.  The client was grateful to be mouse-free.

Rat problem for row of houses in Wandsworth, SW18, December 2021

Pestforce Pest Control Wandsworth were called by a concerned resident after a serios rat problem had arisen at his property and was impacting 5 neighbouring houses. The rat problem was only external and was being made worse by one of the neighbours extensively feeding birds providing adequate food source for tha rats. As we were soley treating externally we were able to offer a discounted rat across the row of houses. After a 3 part erradication programme, with baits safely secured in rodenticide locked boxes we had successfully got on top of the rodent problem. We had identified the soure of the rats, with the origin being an open drain gully. We sealed the gully with a cast iron drain cover and we are confident the rats will not be coming back. 

Bedbug treatment in Wandsworth, SW18, August 17th 2021

Pestforce Pest Control Wandsworth have recently concluded a bedbug treatment for a 2nd flat in Wandsworth. Our initial inspection and conversation with the tenants revealed that the neighbouring flat had bedbugs. During a thorough inspection of the client's bedrooms, we found evidence of bedbugs and recommended a bedbug spray treatment to erradicate the problem. Following the survey treated two bedrooms and a lounge with insecticidal spray concentrating on wall/floor junctions bed frame headboard bedside cabinets sofa. Additionally sprayed the external door mat and a protective strip across the front door externally and internally. We are confident this treatment has been effective at killing the bedbugs however the client has our details if they require a follow up visit. 

Wasp control in Wandsworth, SW18, August 8th 2021

Pestforce Pest Control Wandsworth completed a wasp nest treatment today in Wandsworth. We had a call from a lady who had started seen wasps flying in and out by the tiles above a 1st floor window. We attended the next day, treated the nest from the outside with an insectidical dust. This treatment was effective and the wasp problem is no more. Another happy customer now living wasp free. 

Wandsworth Mice control, SW18, July 31st 2021

Pestforce Pest Control Wandsworth have recently begun a new mice erradication programme. The mice infestation is primarily in the basement area of the client's Wandsworth home. We are confident our treatment will be effective at erradicating the mice from the home after 3 visits and some additional rodent proofing measures will be carried out on the final visit to prevent any new ingress at a later date.

Pestforce Pest Control Wandsworth attended a home in Wandsworth after the resident reported seeing a juvenile rat in their background. We carried out our pest inspection to the property and found light rat activity. We agreed to begin a baiting and trapping programme. We also informed the client that the next door neighbour needs to refrain from feeding the wildlife while treatment is underway as this provides an additional food source for rodents and may compromise the eradication program. So far our treatment has been effective and we are due to attend for a final follow up next month.

A lady had been suffering from pigeons roosting on her flat balcony with excessive fouling on this area of her property. Pestforce Pest Control in Wandsworth carried out a significant pigeon poo clean up today. We had previously surveyed a flat balcony in Wandsworth where pigeons had been perching and leaving guano. Pestforce Pest Control Wandsworth attended a home last week after the family living there called us after an incredibly large infestation of garden ants appeared in their garden in Wandsworth. Pestforce Pest Control Wandsworth had an emergency callout to home in Wandsworth after the owner had began to smell a bad odour in his house. On inspection, our technician uncovered a deceased bird in the property extractor fan. We safely removed the dead bird and treated all affected areas with a biocide treatment to disinfect. The client was very relieved the source of the smell was removed and was glad to know the bird would be appropriately and safely disposed of.

Today's work in Wandsworth was for a young man who had recently moved to Wandsworth and had started to hear what sounded like rats moving behind is dining room wall. Pestforce Pest Control Wandsworth responded to a very distreseed lady who had a terrible smell inside her home in Wandsworth. During our inspection, we uncover evidence of a serious rat ingression into the extension of her home. The ingression has partly also played a part in the infestation of flies also. Alongside her landlord who was on site at the time, a thorough plan to tackle the infestation was constructed. This will intially begin with some drainage works and an intensive rodent treatment plan. We have also recommended to the client that an Environmental clean using specialist biocide is recommended to remove and neutralise droppings and associated pathogens/bacteria. We hope to have this lady's home back to the condition it should be as quick and efficiently as possible. 

Wandsworth Rat Advice - Rat invasion in gardens in Wandsworth, SW18, April 5th 2021

Pestforce Pest Control Wandsworth were contacted by a lady that had told us she had kept seeing rats in her backgarden in her property in Wandsworth. On arrival, we carried out a pest survey and advised the lady some useful pest advice to prevent rats. This included stopping feeding the birds with her multiple bird feeder and in turn remove the food source. To reduce some of her overgrown shrubs and consider netting her pond, thus eliminating the food, reduce the shelter and limiting access to the pond, taking away the three main ingredients.  Hopefully without the need for any toxic or lethal methods the rat population should naturally be displaced from her garden. Wandsworth Catch and Release - Saving a blackbird in Wandsworth, SW18, March 30th 2021

Pestforce Pest Control Wandsworth were called to a rented property where a resident had reported hearing noises inside the fireplace of their property in Wandsworth. Our team had to access the area where the noises were being heard, so had to complete some remedial works to expose the fire place and chimney stack behind. Once inside they found a very much alive but distressed blackbird.  They were pleased to be able to carefully transfer the brid outside and release it back into the wild.  The fireplace has now been sealed back up and we are arranging for a roofer to install a chimney cowling at the top of the chimney pot to stop any more birds or pests inadvertently falling down their chimney stack. 

Wandsworth Pigeon Control and Solar Pannel Bird Proofing - SW18, Wandsworth, 27th March 2021

Pestforce Pest Control Wandsworth recently completed a solar panal proofing job to prevent pigeons from nesting from under panels on semi detached house in Wandsworth. Although the solar panal proofing measures were successful in stopping the pigeons from getting under the solar panels, the pigeons were incredibly determined to stay in the area due to their natural homing instinct. Normally, the pigeons will displace once these interventions have been installed, but where the pigeons may have been reared from egg to a scwab and matured to an adult, this natural instinct can be hard to break. We can normally rely on the unfavourable weather conditions to naturally displace however on this occasion the birds would not move on. We returned to the site to reassess and determined that the installation of Bird Free Bird Deterrent Gels (a highly effective visual deterrent) could help prevent further pigeon activity. These gels were installed above the solar panels and in the roof valleys and has proven very succesful acting as an additional discreet, non-toxic intervention. This has been reported by the client as highly effective with no pigeons being seen on the roof since.

Wandsworth Rat Control After Rat Chews Through Toilet - SW18, Wandsworth, 18th March 2021

Pestforce Pest Control Wandsworth were called to an elderly lady in a mid-terrace property who had what she believed to be a rat chew out through the back of her toilet! When we attended, we found that the flexipipe that had been installed on the toilet waste had been clearly chewed through due to its soft plastic structure. Our Wandsworth rat controllers then checked the drainage system and found that the interceptor cap was missing which in turn allowed rats direct access from the main trunk sewer into the domestic drains of this house. We were able to install an interceptor cap to prevent further rat migration from the sewer into the pipework serving the house. This in itself should resolve the problem. Additionally, our Wandsworth rat control team have recommended the customer asks a competent plumber to install a solid plastic pipe in place of the flexipipe to prevent the risk of any further rats gnawing out of the pipework. Simple solution, one visit, one very happy customer.

Wandsworth Mite Controllers For Unknown Biting Bug Pest - SW18, Wandsworth, 15th March 2021

A local Wandsworth family asked Pestforce to attend their home following being on the receiving end of insect bites. They had a newborn child and they were extremely concerned. As most people do, they googled all sorts of things and promptly jumped to the conclusion that they had a bed bug problem. Our team's insect expert Alison attended and carried out a meticulous survey and was able to identify a form of mites that was likely to be causing the skin reactions. At this stage we have traced the mite problem to a vacant property above and have sent off the mites for formal identification by a lab. We have attended and carried out a general insecticide treatment to control the current mite problem and are working closely with the property owners to gain access to the flat above so we can ensure a long term solution for the client.

Wandsworth Squirrel Control Treatment After Lights Kept Going Out - SW18, Wandsworth, 10th March 2021

Pestforce Pest Control Wandsworth were recently called to a house where the lighting kept going out in the upstairs bedrooms. Historically, the homeowners had been hearing noises coming from the roof space. Our Wandsworth squirrel controllers attended and investigated the issue and found evidence of squirrel activity including damage to electrical cables, lighting circuits and timber structural sections in the loft space. On inspection of exterior of the property, we could see squirrels had created an entry hole through a gap between the dormer window and main roof tiles. Treatment and actions have included advising the client to get a competent electrician to inspect all electrical wiring in the roof space due to the potential risk of fire. Suitable squirrel traps have been installed in the roof space in discreet locations to humanely trap and remove the offending squirrels. The customer was relieved that they were are aware of the electrical fire risk and are getting someone in promptly. Our Wandsworth pest controllers are doing regular 24 hour visits to check traps and remove squirrels. Once all removed, we will commence remedial works to the damage on the dormer window and prevent further squirrel ingress.

Wandsworth Pest Controllers Treat Years Old Rat Problem - SW18, Wandsworth, 5th March 2021

Our pest control experts in Wandsworth were contacted recently by a customer who has had an ongoing rat problem for several years. Several other providers (not Pestforce) have attended and carried out poison or rodenticide based treatments only, without any vision for long term solutions. Pestforce Pest Control Wandsworth attended and traced the problem back to the drainage as the source of the rat problem. While on site, our Wandsworth pest control team installed a non return valve (rat flap). Over the span of a week, the customer has not heard any noises or seen any rat activity since. At this stage we believe the problem is resolved without the need for any traps or poisons. The customer was absolutely overwhelmed at how poor the other companies had been and how they never thought to look in his drain.

Wandsworth Pigeon Control for Roof Space - SW18, Wandsworth, 1st March 2021

Pestforce Pest Control Wandsworth were recently contacted by a customer concerning pigeons accessing the roof space via an open rain water passing through the roof, due to a building design defect on a new build. Our team of Wandsworth bird controllers have humanely removed the adult pigeons and eggs and completed an environmental service clean to remove all associated materials of pigeon activity (such as guano), and installed a wire mesh to seal off the gulley channels and building defect to prevent pigeon ingress. The client, a property managing agent was over the moon with our fast implementation of such a comprehensive bird control measure.

Pigeons in Battersea - 07/06/2020

Feral pigeons were daytime roosting on the top front leading edges off this Battersea property.  The pigeons were then fouling all over the front of this lovely property causing a mess and more importantly a health risk.  Unfortunately the neighbours were constantly feeding the pigeons on the front street, which only encouraged the pigeons to sit waiting above.  To resolve the issue a full environmental clean to remove pigeon guano was completed followed by installation of Avipoint P20 bird spikes to prevent the pigeons from perching in these areas.  We also had a polite conversation with the neighbours to make them aware of the impact there actions were having on surrounding properties.  The intervention looks really neat and discrete.  The pigeons haven’t been back and the client is over the moon.

Garden Ants in Wandsworth - 03/04/2020

We were called to an ant infestation in a ground floor maisonette in Wandsworth earlier this week.  When we arrived, before we even entered the property we saw large numbers of common Black Garden Ants (Lasius niger) and the tell tale signs of sand like material around the cracks of the paving slabs.  Once inside the house we found ant trails leading from under the skirting boards and the radiator pipes towards the kitchen and pantry. The ants being seen were actually foraging worker ants that simply invade buildings in search of food and resources to support the development of the colony.  They are particularly attracted to sweet food, which they can easily take back to feed the queen and larvae.  These ants are generally easy to eradicate, especially with an integrated pest management approach (IPM). First and foremost we advised the client on appropriate food storage to limit pest access to food sources around the kitchen and pantry.  We then treated the ant problem using a specialist ant gel formula that is quite discrete and removes the need for sprays.  Maxforce Quantum can also be use for rapid control of a variety of different ants including; Pharaoh Ant (Monomorium pharaonis) and the less common Ghost Ant (Tapinoma melanocephalum) and the Argentine Ant (Linepithema humile).  The gel works by taking advantage of the food exchange between the ants, allowing for transfer of imidacloprid within the ant colony.  Foraging ants that feed on the bait will return to the nest and transfer the bait to the queen(s) and the entire colony. Additionally we identified where the ants had exploited holes and gaps to get inside the property in the first instance.  While on site we used silicone to seal several gaps between floor/wall junctions and around the pipework.  Externally the client also had missing pointing between brickwork, which is how the ants got inside the structure.  These external holes in the mortar had also been allowing rainwater to penetrate the house fabric and had led to minor damp patches on the internal walls.  We are going back next week to angle grind the loose mortar and repoint these areas.  This will stop future ant issues and remove the damp problem.
