Rats nest discovered in loft space in Buckingham, MK18, 3rd January 2023
Pestforce Pest Control Buckingham were called out to a property in Buckingham as the occupants had been hearing noises in their loft space, mostly at night. Our team arrived at the agreed time and began with a survey, during which fresh droppings were discovered in addition to a nest which was close to the soil pipe. Work started with a rodent treatment program with the use of rodenticides and traps. We attended the property again a few days later to check and monitor the progress of the rodent treatment program, no bait had been taken at all. We next decided to inspect the nearby drain and use tracking dust to enable us to trace the rodents and monitor their activity. During our third visit, our customer informed us that she had seen a rat under the kitchen units, on inspection to the area we discovered a gap around the waste pipe which we filled with a rodenticide foam. We then proceeding to inspect the drain where we had used tracking dust on our previous visit, this showed no evidence of rodent activity. We arrived for our fourth visit to this property at the agreed time, we checked the areas we had treated previously, and the rodenticide foam had been breached. We had finally found the entrance point. With no further evidence of recent activity, we could now block up this gap with wire wool which will prevent the rodents from entering this property via this route.

Rat finds haven behind radiator in a home in Buckingham, MK18, 6th September 2022
Pestforce Pest Control Buckingham received a call to attend a home in Buckingham where a rodent was discovered to be hiding behind a radiator in the hall. Our rodent team arrived at this home at an agreed time and completed an initial inspection. The rodent was identified although not within easy reach as it was behind the radiator which was housed by a radiator cover. We continued our inspection throughout the property with rat droppings also discovered in the loft space. We set to work on a rodent treatment program and filled in the hole around the pipe work with rodenticide foam. We returned to the property two weeks later to monitor the rodent treatment program, once again a survey was carried out to evaluate the progress. There was no new evidence or sightings of the rat from behind the radiator, although rat droppings were discovered in the kitchen and beneath the decking outside, we decided to expand the area of baiting to the kitchen and garden area. Two weeks later we arrived again and carried out an inspection of the property, no further rodent activity was identified inside the home, although more bait was needed under the decking, this was replenished, we will return to monitor this in two weeks’ time.

Our team identified the areas the birds were sitting and fouling. We then discussed using some bird spiking on an area of guttering along with the use of a gel deterrent. Our team also were able to clean and sanitise the area where the guano had built up over time.
